All of us have a soundtrack to our lives. Songs that we hear that remind us of a certain place, time, or person. A song that will instantly make you feel the emotions you felt during the part of your life when that song on your soundtrack was important. For a long time I have wanted to do a scrapbook about the songs that are on my soundtrack of life. But, other things take priority and that soundtrack is continually evolving. So, I came up with what I *think* is an original idea and if it is not, I'm sorry to whomever I am unknowingly copying. Welcome to Soundtrack Sunday here on my blog! At least those parts of my life will be journaled and it might be an interesting read/listen as well. I have TWO songs today for you. The first is the Soundtrack Sunday Theme Song:
So, here's to the first SOUNDTRACK SUNDAY!!! I decided to start off with a funny one and promise not to make all of them sappy! :) PROMISE! I have a Playlist on my iPod called "Stressed Songs". These are songs that I play when I am upset with someone or stressed out (duh!). The first song on that list is "I've Done Everything For You" by Rick Springfield. When my kids aren't helping out or are being difficult, this is the song they will hear. I usually wait until we get in the car to take older dd to school, I turn this song on and blast it, LOUD! At the second the infamous intro starts (da ne ne ne ne ne ne ne ne ne ne) I hear grumbling from the backseat i.e. "oh moooooommm". They KNOW this song and they know what it means. Then, I sing at the top of my lungs, looking at them in my rear view mirror and occasionally turning around to sing more directly to them (when I can safely do so). Usually, before the song ends, we all end up laughing! It successfully gets the point across without me having to yell, which makes everyone happier!
I am going to try and embed the video here of the song performed by Rick Springfield on YouTube. If picturing me singing this song to my kids at the top of my lungs doesn't make you laugh, this video will for sure!! Have fun and come back for the "Soundtrack Sunday" again next week!
